Born in Uppsala 1815, died 1880.
Thekla Levinia Andrietta Knös, born June 17, 1815 in Uppsala, died March 10, 1880 at Växjö hospital, Swedish writer and poet.
Thekla Knös, daughter of Professor Gustav Knös, grew up in the circle of intercourse authors Erik Gustaf Geijer, Per Daniel Amadeus Atterbom, Israel Hwasser and Baroness Malla Silfverstolpe. 1855 died Theklas mother and Thekla encountered one of severe depression. She recovered and in 1869 participated in the formation of the Association for mentally child care, but was hit again in the same year by a mental illness.
In 1853 Thekla Knös published the second part of her poems. For poetic piece "Ragnar Lodbrok" she received in 1851 Swedish Academy's Grand Prize, and in 1868 she re-price the Swedish Academy for "The page".
In the 1937 hymnal has been inserted her treatment of the third verse of the hymn number. 51 “Det är en ros utsprungen”. Verse origin is German, but the author is unknown. The Knös the translation reads:
“The delicate rose is fine
that smell bliss
in the darkness, the shining,
True God and true man,
us poor people save
from sin and death he can”.

Thekla Knös is buried at the old cemetery in Uppsala.

The cemetery is situated in central Uppsala near the cathedral ’Uppsala domkyrka’ and the old castle, built by Gustav Vasa.
Thekla is a relative of me on my grandma's side.

He was born in Slätthög parish, Kronobergs county Jan. 14, 1871.
He immigrated to USA in July 1891. I have got this photo of him and his wife and daughter, but I dont know their names or where the family lived.
If anyone knows anything about this family, I am grateful if you would inform me.

Here is an easy baked and good flavor that only get better if it is allowed to rest a bit before serving.
2.5 dl sugar
4 dl wheat flour
0.5 tsp baking powder
2 tablespoons sighed
100 grams of preserved orange peel
2 dl raisins
Grated rind of half lemon
(Garnish 75-100g dark chocolate)
Stir butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time.
Scrub the lemon and tear of the skin.
Mix the flour with the husk, baking powder, sighed, orange peel and raisins into a smooth mixture.
Grease a 2 liter baking-tin and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs or semolina. Upset in the batter and spread it evenly in shape.
Bake in bottom of oven at 300°F (150°C) for 50 to 60 minutes.
Loosen the cake from the mold and let cool on the grill, preferably with the shape of itself.
If you want to garnish the cake with chocolate brick: lay out pieces of chocolate on the hot cake. If needed to melt the chocolate, you can insert additional cake a minute in the oven. Spread with a fork. The fork can also be used to make patterns in the soft chocolate. Allow to cool on the grill.
For the flavors of the cake is ready you can usefully store it frozen and take it up a day before serving.
100g butter, room temperature
1 dl sugar
3 dl oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
2 tablespoons strong coffee
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
coconut flakes to roll the balls in.
Stir it all together and roll into small balls.
Roll them in coconut flakes and set the cold in the fridge a few hours.
Things You’ll Need:
1/2 c. butter (1 stick) softened
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugars with an electric mixer on high speed. Now, add the egg and vanilla to the mixture and beat it until it’s smooth.
In another mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and the cream of tartar.
Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix it well.
Preheat your oven to 300 degrees while you let your dough rest for 30 to 60 minutes in the refrigerator. Timing depends on how high you have your refrigerator settings.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar with the cinnamon for your topping.
Take around 2 1/2 tbsp. of the dough and roll each into a ball. Roll the dough balls in the topping and press it onto an un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake the cookies for 12 to 14 minutes, and no longer.

50 grams melted butter
1,5 dl granulated sugar
200 grams grated coconut
grated rind and juice, a bit of a lime
Click the peaks on a baking paper on the plate.
Bake approximately 12 minutes at 175 degrees.

Governor J. Hugo Aronson
Born in Södra Säm, Västergötland, Sweden
J. Hugo Aronson and his wife Matilda Langane.
Matilda died March 1, 1936.
Rose died February 25, 1968.
J. Hugo Aronson; also known as "The Galloping Swede" — of Montana.
His education was limited and attained in the public schools of his native country. In 1911 he immigrated to the United States, where he traveled to numerous states, working various odd jobs. He eventually settled in Sunburst, Montana and became established in the oil rigging business. Aronson first entered politics as alderman of the Cut Bank City Council, a position he held from 1934 to 1938.
He also served as a member of the Montana House of Representatives from 1939 to 1944, and was a member of the Montana State Senate from 1945 to 1952. Aronson next secured the Republican gubernatorial nomination, and was elected governor by a popular vote on November 4, 1952. He was reelected to a second term in 1956.
During his tenure, the state forestry office was restructured; a gasoline tax was initiated that funded the highway department; prison reform programs were instituted; a legislative council was founded; and a prison riot was dealt with.
After completing his term, Aronson stayed active in Republican politics. In 1968, he served as the honorary state campaign chairman for Richard Nixon's presidential race.
Governor J. Hugo Aronson passed away on February 25, 1978, and was buried in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Davenport, Washington.

This is Jeanne Enid Derbeck.
She was granddaughter of Jennie Amalia and Andrew G. Chiberg and daughter of Alva Victoria and Thedore O. Luthman. Jeanne was born in 1920 in South Bend, and died in 1994 also in South Bend. She was married to Edward W. Derbeck.

TRIBUNE ARTS WRITER DERBECK DIES AT 74.
December 12. 1994.
SOUTH BEND - Jeanne E. Derbeck, The Tribune's longtime arts writer and founder of the newspaper's Action Line column, was found dead of natural causes in her apartment Monday. She was 74.
Ms. Derbeck, of Rue Renoir, retired in 1988 from the newspaper after 21 years of service. In retirement, she continued to write about the arts for The Tribune.
She was born July 14, 1920, in South Bend. She was a 1937 graduate of Riley High School. She worked as a secretary in California, Chicago and South Bend before earning a bachelor's degree at Indiana University South Bend in 1969 and a master's degree in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1971.
Ms. Derbeck joined The Tribune in 1967 as a proofreader and then served as an obituary writer. She became a reporter in 1970, covering the women's movement, historic preservation and urban redevelopment issues. In 1971, she started the Action Line consumer advice column. She served for a time as the newspaper's Youth Page editor.
Over the years, Ms. Derbeck won many writing awards from the Indiana Associated Press Managing Editors Association, the Women's Press Club of Indiana and other professional organizations.
In 1976, she received a distinguished service award from the Indiana Public Health Association for a series on the investigation of restaurant kitchens. She also won a first-place APME community affairs award for the series.
In 1986, she received the Woman of Achievement Award from the local chapter of Hands Across America. The award was presented to honor Ms. Derbeck's accomplishments as a local woman in the communications field.
Ms. Derbeck was a member of the South Bend Press Club, the Northern Indiana Historical Society and the Women's Art League.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia.
Services are being arranged.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 60 minutes
155g butter (at room temperature)
150g golden caster
4 eating apples
300g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp mixed spice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
100g walnuts (roughly chopped)
icing sugar for dusting
Making and cooking it
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Grease and line a 23cm round cake tin
Put the butter and sugar into a large mixing bowl and whisk together until pale and fluffy
Grate the apple and stir into the mixture
Mix in the eggs
Sift together the flour, baking powder, mixed spice, cinnamon and stir into the apple mixture, along with the nutmeg
Finally fold in the sultanas and walnuts
Pour into the cake tin and bake for 45 - 60 minutes.
You can test if it's cooked by inserting a skewer into the centre of the cake - if it comes out clean it's cooked
Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning it out to cool on a wire rack
When it's completely cool use a sieve to lightly dust the cake with icing sugar.
155g smör, rumsvarmt
2 tsk bakpulver
1 tsk blandade kryddor
1 tsk kanel
1 / 2 tsk riven färsk muskot
100 g valnötter (grovt hackade)
florsocker för damning
Värm ugnen till 180° C/Fläkt 160° C
Smöra en ca 23cm rund form.
Lägg smör och socker i en stor bunke och vispa ihop så det blir fluffigt.
Riv äpplet och rör ner i smeten
Blanda i äggen
Sikta ihop mjöl, bakpulver, blandat krydda, kanel och rör ner äpplet blandningen tillsammans med muskot
Blanda slutligen i sultanrussin och valnötter
Häll smeten i formen och grädda i 45 - 60 minuter.
Ta ut ur ugnen och låt svalna i formen i 5 minuter innan du slår ut det svalna på ett galler.
När den har svalnat helt, kan du använda en sil för att lätt pudra kakan med florsocker.
